Evaluator & Office Administrator – Mumbai, India

A leading international ship registry are seeking an Office Administrator and Evaluator in Mumbai.

You will be instrumental in being the eyes and ears on the group for this maritime organisation setting up a new office.

With the company soon to be incorporated, you’ll follow instructions from management in relation to the new office; taking pictures, relaying information, and making sure all matters related to the facility run smoothly. Once the office is set up, you will be responsible for all administrative matters. You will not however be responsible for the management of staff in the office.

Your dual role will also see you reviewing seafarer documentation for Indian seafarers. You will ensure that seafarers have the correct documentation, training certificates and are compliant to sail as per their intended contract. You will be key in making sure that there is speed and efficiency in the process of seafarers receiving their seagoing books without delay.

To be considered, you will be very organised, able to follow clear instructions and relay information. You will also be experienced in administration and have an understanding and knowledge of the various maritime conventions and training programmes that seafarers need to adhere to.

This is a full-time, office based position in Mumbai.

Finance Associate, London

Spinnaker is seeking a Finance Associate to join our client’s ship-owner/operator London office.

This is an opportunity to gain more responsibility in maritime accounting, reporting large numbers (USD millions) to management.

Day-to-day, you will cover budget analysis reporting, financial reporting, managing AP/AR, financial contract management and OPEX budget / cost management for the vessels assigned to you.

Communicating with Charterers, Technical Managers and JV Owners you will liaise on all financial matters, ensuring effective governance and compliance.

You will be:
– AAT Qualified or studying for your ACCA or CIMA qualification.

You will have:
– Experience in management accounting.

Risk Manager (Financial), London

An international dry bulk operator and logistics company, with a European HQ and operations in Asia and the Middle East, are hiring a Financial Risk Manager for their team in London.

Working closing with the trading team and senior management, you’ll manage the financial risks around the trading of vessels, the potential hedging of vessels, as well as hedging of vessel’s bunkers.

This position will give you the opportunity to go forward in your career, using what you have learnt, to take ownership of a risk management system.

You’ll have experience in Risk Management in a commodity trading company, or dry or wet operator.

While being well versed in financial aspects and capable of devising a risk management system, you’ll be able to understand, and communicate this from a commercial perspective, building good rapport with the internal trading team.

Your role will be to support the Senior HR Business Partner, and the business as a whole, acting as an employee champion and change agent.

Advising on employee matters and providing day to day support, you will drive and implement the HR plan across all business areas.

Working with the HR leadership team, you’ll identify and scope recruitment needs, identifying skill gaps and learning opportunities, as well as identifying people risks and managing employee relations cases.

Global Payroll Coordinator, New York

Coordinate Payroll for an international shipping company across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Being responsible for the day-to-day management of payroll, you’ll be onboarding new employees onto the system as well as processing new hires, and leavers on the system for approval.

Collecting data, you’ll ensure all information is present and correct for multiple, global payroll runs liasing with treasury to ensure the funds required for payment are available. You’ll also liase with accounts to preparing payroll reports.
You’ll will be a problem solver; an excellent communicator, and you’ll be key in making sure the efficient running of a payroll department.

An Accounting, Finance or Business degree is essential.

You will have at least 3 years global payroll experience.

Advanced level Excel skills along with ADP Payroll will give you an edge.

Representing a group of companies, the services you’ll sell will include marine technical services and project management, marine surveying, inspections and quality assurance, marine personnel training as well as marine hardware for satellite communication, including subscription services.

You’ll be accountable to the senior management of the group and be able to demonstrate the pipeline of opportunities you have been developing.

As a seasoned sales and business development professional, you will be given the freedom to manage your own schedule and plan in generating and closing opportunities.

Having knowledge of, experience in, and connections in the North American maritime market will be essential.

This position would be ideal for an individual currently working on several contracts.

Preference would be for you to be based in Fort Lauderdale near the company HQ. However, with the nature of the position and travel involved, location can be flexible.

Entitlement to live and work in the United States of America is essential, unfortunately without this you cannot be considered for the position.

Regional Manager, Ghana

Join an international shipping line in a newly created position managing operations and logistics for the West Africa container business.

With three direct reports and management of all the local staff, you’ll oversea and challenge the wholly owned and third agencies management of vessels, ensuring maximum vessel utilization and minimizing voyage time wastage.

Working with the Regional Head, you will work on contract renewals and negotiations and the review of services provided and work to develop and enhance special cargo business.

You’ll ensure that all agency operations in the region follow process and regulations.

As the Regional Manager, you’ll also have responsibility for container inventory with regards to balances, utilization and turn times.

Travel in the region, will be required.

Experience in terminal planning, commercial or liner agency operations is essential.

An understanding of container liner services network design, and principles is necessary.

You’ll have experience of working the West African region, ideally Ghana or Nigeria and have an existing network of contacts.

As part of the busy commercial department, you’ll work on a variety of tasks from general inquiries to bookings and quotations, dealing with external customers and internal teams.

Focusing on the Mediterranean and Adriatic regions, you’ll provide quotes for shipping services, handle sales enquiries, monitor cargo deliveries, and liaise with UK Port Offices.

Prior experience in the container shipping is not essential.

You will be able to demonstrate good communication and organisation skills as well as be confident speaking on the phone.

This is an office-based position in London, Monday to Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm.

Director of Commercial Partnerships, Europe

Working remotely from your existing base in Europe, you’ll manage commercial and contractual relationships with existing customers.

Leveraging your existing network and connections within the commercial shipping industry, you’ll also be able to spot opportunities and take opportunities to develop business within Europe.

Having overall responsibility for client engagement strategy, targeting the merchant shipping segment you’ll work closely with international team members focusing on other areas including the leisure, yachting, cruise, and fishing sectors.

Company Representative, Philippines

With responsibility for a both a manning agency, and training centre in the Philippines, you will reside in country, providing guidance and support for operational processes and procedures.

Having a background knowledge, and experience within crewing, or maritime training you will analyse crew demand based on data and industry developments.

You will provide guidance on training requirements, reviewing the latest training concepts. Therefore, an understanding from a seagoing perspective would be useful.

As a senior member of the organisation in country you will also oversea crew inspections, and periodically be in attendance to deal with crew related matters.

This role will provide you with a high level of independence, and a wide range of interesting and challenging tasks, taking decisions that promote the organisations philosophies and are in line with the company intentions.

To be considered you will have experience in a crewing, training, or the recruitment of seafarers. It may not be your current responsibility, but certainly within the last ten years.

You will demonstrate the qualities of a strong leader. Someone who can generate results and implement change, bringing the team with them by collaboration, rather than confrontation.

This role will require you to live, and work in the Philippines. This can be full time, or a rotation basis.
