Policy Manager – London

About the Position

Work at the heart of the UK, and International Shipping industry to design, develop, and propose courses of action to help ferry operators and cruise companies meet their key priorities and business objectives.

As the Policy Manager for Ferries and Cruise at the UK Chamber of Shipping you will inform, and guide members of development on key issues relating to their business operations.

This is a position where you’ll be keeping on top of issues, researching around the subject, analysing, and sharing information with relevant stakeholders.

You’ll be at the forefront of formulating policy on topics including UK border controls, port and pilotage issues, and matters relating to passengers with the aim of protecting and promoting the interest of the chambers members.

Becoming the subject matter expert for this area of the maritime industry, you’ll lead and manage the Ferry and Cruise Panel secretariat on discussions covering international and domestic passenger and freight issues.

This is a permanent position, based in London – 30 Park Street, London, SE1 9EQ.

About You

The UKCS are looking for an individual with an understanding of the ferry and/or cruise business.

You will have knowledge of challenges and issues such as:

• Passenger experience
• Customs and Border checks
• Terminal operations

Seafaring experience is not required for this position.

Existing entitlement to live and work in the United Kingdom is required.
