Main duties will include, but are not limited to, handling a high volume of claims for both owners and charterers, as well as mentoring, supervising and managing colleagues as required.

The role will involve a mix of P&I and FD&D claims, as well as a mix of mutual and fixed premium files.
Being a small team, you will get fantastic exposure to a wide variety of claims from day one. You will also be responsible for overseeing a junior claims handler, so will ideally have at least 8 years’ experience to date.
Experience handling FD&D claims previously is essential, however you do not need to be a qualified solicitor to be considered for this role.

Legal Counsel & Insurance Manager – Europe
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join an international and privately owned agri-business as Legal Counsel and Insurance Manager.
This position is ideally to be based in Switzerland, although other European locations can be considered for the right candidate.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the company is properly insured in relation to its business risks and liabilities relating to cargo, warehouse and chartering. The role will include the tendering, negotiating and contracting with brokers and insurers. You will also manage the companys claims system and processes and will be responsible for overseeing and supporting all insured cargo and charterers liability claims.
The role will involve liaising closely with the operations and trading teams on complex day-to-day matters and issues. You will also take primary responsibility for pre-litigation contentious matters and related disputes.
This role will suit a lawyer with 5-7 years’ experience, or an experienced senior insurance professional with a good technical and practical working knowledge of English trading and shipping law.

As an in-house Paralegal, you will work closely with the busy legal department, supporting them in transactional activities relating to ship S&P, as well as finance transactions.
To be considered for this role, you must have proved experience as a Paralegal, ideally having worked with transactional matters. It is essential that you have a strong understanding of ship sale & purchase and finances processes.
