Since joining Spinnaker in 2022, Bethanie has been contributing her legal knowledge, creativity, and commitment to both our marketing and HR Consulting teams. She began her Spinnaker journey as a Recruitment Researcher, supporting the Commercial and Legal, P&I and Insurance Desk—a role that allowed her to dive deeply into her passion for law and talent sourcing. When the marketing function was brought in-house, Beth saw an opportunity to step into a creative and strategic role, where she has flourished ever since.
In her current position as Marketing & HRC Executive, Beth oversees a wide range of marketing activities, collaborating closely with our Marketing & Business Development Manager, Helen McCaughran. She drives Spinnaker's multi-channel communications strategy, crafting content and visuals that keep our brand dynamic and engaging. From curating social media posts and implementing the latest trends to partnering with PR firms and external collaborators, Beth is dedicated to amplifying our "Changing Course" blog, expanding our reach, and ensuring consistent, impactful messaging across all platforms. Her attention to detail and ability to adapt to the latest digital trends mean that any Spinnaker content you see has likely been touched by her creative expertise.
Beth also plays a crucial role in supporting the HR Consulting team, handling administrative tasks, coordinating documentation, and ensuring the seamless delivery of services. Her dedication to providing comprehensive support makes her an indispensable part of day-to-day operations and project rollouts.
Beth’s enthusiasm for marketing and social media was formally recognised when she earned Spinnaker's “Social Media Cup” award within her first year—an accolade that reflects her commitment to driving engagement and brand visibility. In a previous role, she managed a small marketing team in the recruitment industry, where she launched a successful new marketing program, further solidifying her passion for the field.
Beth holds an LLB in Law from Aberystwyth University, where she achieved a 2:1 classification, specialising in Intellectual Property law. This focus has added valuable insight into her role in marketing, as she brings an understanding of copyright, brand integrity, and intellectual property issues into Spinnaker's content and brand strategy.
Bethanie always wanted to be a detective when she was younger. Or a prima ballerina. Neither of those paths quite worked out, but she’s found a new passion in the shipping industry, where she combines her skills and creativity to make a real impact.
