Role Overview:
We are looking to hire a Crewing Specialist to join our client’s team, based in either Cyprus or London. This is a strategic role where you will play a key part in shaping the company’s crewing strategy, ensuring that all vessels are staffed with qualified and competent crew members. You will oversee external crewing managers and agencies, ensuring compliance, consistency, and quality across all crewing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic crewing plan aligned with the company’s operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze crew rotation schedules, travel arrangements, and operational data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Lead the recruitment, screening, and selection of seafarers, ensuring all crew members meet certification, licensing, and medical requirements.
  • Design and oversee crew training and development programs, ensuring compliance with international and national maritime regulations (STCW, MLC, ISM, etc.).
  • Monitor crew welfare and administration, including health, wellness, visas, and work permits, to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
  • Produce detailed reports, analyze data to optimize spend, and provide strategic recommendations to align crewing activities with the company’s overall objectives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strategic thinker with a proven ability to analyze data, spot trends, and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address potential issues before they arise.
  • The maturity and professionalism to liaise with personnel at all levels, from crew members to senior executives.
  • Proven experience in crewing, maritime operations, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and crew management software.
