Marine Claims Handler – Hamburg

We are representing a prestigious marine insurance brokerage firm in Germany seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for Greek-speaking professionals with marine insurance experience looking to advance their careers in a dynamic international environment.
  
Key Responsibilities:

• Handle and process P&I and H&M claims from initial notification through to settlement
• Serve as the primary point of contact between vessel owners, insurance underwriters, and other stakeholders
• Investigate and analyse claim circumstances to determine coverage under relevant policies
• Negotiate with insurers to achieve optimal claim settlements for clients
• Prepare and review claims documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policy terms
• Provide regular status updates to clients in both Greek and German/English
• Assist with risk management advice to help clients mitigate future claims
• Maintain detailed claims records and generate analytical reports

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in marine insurance claims, specifically P&I and H&M
• Fluency in Greek and proficiency in German and/or English
• Strong knowledge of maritime law and insurance principles
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities
• Experience with marine insurance documentation and procedures
• Understanding of international shipping operations and terminology
• Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships
