Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a sophisticated portfolio of marine and logistics insurance clients, focusing on strategic relationship building and comprehensive risk management
- Leverage extensive market knowledge to identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in marine insurance sectors
- Design and negotiate complex insurance programs tailored to client’s specific risk profiles, including commission-based compensation structures
- Coordinate co-brokering arrangements with partner firms to maximize client coverage and market penetration
- Conduct in-depth market analysis, tracking industry trends, event insights, and sector-specific market intelligence
- Manage end-to-end client engagement, from initial risk assessment to policy placement and ongoing account management
- Prepare comprehensive proposal documents, risk reports, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key underwriters, insurers, and industry stakeholders
- Develop innovative insurance solutions that address complex risk challenges in marine and logistics industries
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in marine insurance brokerage, with a strong track record of business development
- Extensive network and deep understanding of marine insurance market dynamics (with a preference for the Western/Central European market)
- Demonstrated ability to generate and close high-value insurance opportunities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven capability to build and maintain strategic client relationships
- Proven experience in co-brokering arrangements and collaborative business models
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends
- Advanced degree in Business, Finance, Maritime Studies, or related field preferred
- Fluency in English; additional European language skills highly advantageous
- Proven success in commission-based compensation environments
- Advanced negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to operate at senior executive levels
