A global insurance intermediary with a strong presence in the marine market is looking to grow its Hull & Machinery team with the addition of a technically minded Marine Insurance Broker. The firm operates a collaborative hybrid model with offices in South East England, and has built a reputation for quality placements, strategic client servicing, and career progression.
With over 60 marine professionals and 18 team members focused on Hull business, this team is looking to futureproof its capability and pass technical expertise to the next generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Place marine insurance risks, primarily Hull & Machinery, with some exposure to Cargo and Liability.
• Produce and manage policy documentation, contracts, and endorsements.
• Maintain strong relationships with shipowners, insurers, and internal stakeholders.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to technical discussions around structure and coverage.
• Coordinate closely with Client Executives and Broker Technicians to ensure accuracy and efficiency in placement.
• Stay up to date with marine insurance market developments and regulations.

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in Marine insurance broking (Hull & Machinery focus desirable).
• Background at a shipping company or marine underwriting environment is beneficial.
• Strong technical knowledge of policy wordings and placement strategy.
• Confident communicator with the ability to manage client-facing relationships.
• Experience with shipowners and marine insurance touchpoints essential.
• Hybrid working – candidates should be able to commute to South East England offices or work from London/Ipswich/home in a flexible capacity.
