Be the HR Director for a multi-site shipping company with multiple offices across Europe – including the UK and Greece, as well as West Africa.
You will enjoy board-level influence and the freedom to design a modern, people-first HR function from the ground up.
Reporting directly to the Board, you will build and execute a global people strategy. Covering workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, succession, and culture.
You’ll be responsible for developing the existing team, identifying gaps, and adding new team members to improve the HR department.
Be tasked with driving a culture, knitting these locations together, championing a caring culture, and making sure every hire, policy, and KPI drives the business forward.
You will act as a visible, approachable partner to leaders and employees alike: one day shaping organisation design and compensation structures, the next resolving on-the-ground employee issues
You’ll manage outsourced payroll vendors, refine the HRIS, and ensure full compliance with EU, maritime, and local labour law, all fall within your remit.
Regular travel is expected. It’s likely you will be based in either Athens, London, or Southampton.
Success in this role calls for senior-level HR leadership experience across multiple countries – ideally in shipping or a similarly regulated, operational environment, together with a proven ability to align HR initiatives to commercial KPIs.
You must be a confident communicator who can shift effortlessly between on-the-ground conversations and C-suite debate.
