A leading international commodity trading house are seeking an experienced Cargo Operator to join their expanding Metals & Minerals team in Athens.
Due to substantial growth and worldwide expansion of their Metals & Minerals Operations desk, our client has established a dedicated team in Athens to strengthen their commercial activities. This role offers full accountability for managing accounts with a primary focus on Copper products.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize comprehensive shipping and storage solutions for cargo operations
- Manage logistics flows based on trading allocations while controlling operational costs
- Ensure timely delivery of all shipping documentation for purchase/sale, export/import, and transit operations
- Coordinate customs formalities and ensure adherence to international trade regulations
- Organize quality and quantity controls including cargo inspections, sampling, and assaying
- Manage cargo allocations and oversee complete trade execution processes
- Coordinate and organize blending operations as required
- Liaise effectively with external counterparties and internal teams
- Maintain accurate cargo information in company systems
- Contribute to evaluation and enhancement of operational processes
Essential Requirements Education & Experience
- University degree in Business, Law, Trading, Shipping, or related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in operations and/or trading roles within the shipping or commodity industry.
- Essential to hold experience with copper and concentrates to understand the metals business in Africa.
- Specific expertise in Metals and/or Minerals operations.
