Yacht Insurance Business Development Manager – Dubai
This specialist insurance broker offers tailored risk and insurance solutions to both corporate and individual clients. With decades of experience in the UAE market, they provide a wide range of general insurance and employee-benefit products, along with customized risk assessment, program design, policy placement, and claims management services.
The purpose of this role is to drive the growth and development of the yacht insurance portfolio by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with yacht owners, captains, yacht managers, and marine industry partners, and delivering tailored insurance solutions in collaboration with underwriters and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a growth strategy for the yacht insurance portfolio across key markets.
- Identify and engage potential clients, including yacht owners, managers, captains, brokers, and shipyards.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships by providing attentive, personalized service.
- Work closely with underwriters to craft customized insurance solutions for superyachts, sailing yachts, and motor yachts.
- Represent the firm at yacht shows, marine industry events, and private networking opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends and client needs to drive innovation and improve service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams (claims, legal, compliance) to ensure client satisfaction and portfolio performance.
- Collaborate with other entities within the group to identify cross-border opportunities and ensure a cohesive approach to client service.
- Provide regular updates and business development reports to senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the yachting industry, whether in yacht brokerage, management, chartering, marina operations, or shipbuilding.
- A strong professional network within the global yacht or marine ecosystem is essential.
- Knowledge of yacht operations, ownership structures, and the lifestyle expectations of high-net-worth clients.
- Business development or client relationship management experience is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally to meet clients and attend industry events.
