Commercial Executive – Essex

You’ll travel extensively to oversee contracts and build relationships with clients, primarily in Africa.
Having a background in port agency, freight forwarding, or sales within the shipping industry with strong negotiation and problem-solving skills will be key to your success.
As Commercial Executive you’ll take control of contract management to oversee and negotiate rates for stevedoring, local labour, and technical services, ensuring profitability.
Being the primary point of contact for clients, you’ll addressing issues such as machinery downtime and spare parts needs collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth day-to-day activities and effective problem resolution.
Business Development is another key element, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in port and terminals, focusing on the movement of bagged, dry bulk commodities.
Internally you word with the operations and accounts team to manage P&L, ensuring contracts are financially viable while maintaining records of contracts won and lost.
Requirements:
- Experience in port agency, freight forwarding, or sales in the shipping industry.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently, including to Africa.
