On behalf of an international, not-for-profit, professional body within the maritime industry, we are seeking a Marine Advisor, based in London.
An association that brings together other associations from around the world, pooling together concerns, experiences and expertise in order to formulate views and policies that are both convincing and practical to implement.
The overall aim is to promote safety and professionalism on behalf of the members they represent.
Your role will see you being immersed in specific research projects as directed by the Secretary-General and how they can affect the membership group. This could cover from Maritime Anti-Corruption to ECDIS, to Engine Software Management Systems.
You will be involved in attending the IMO.
As an individual, you will be knowledgeable of the maritime industry, aware of the pressures involved in a multitude of aspects, from operations to the impact of class and flag state decisions.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, being able to interact with individuals on all levels, from members to shipowners, to country leaders.
Therefore, you will be good at developing networks, a diplomat, someone who is flexible and autonomous and possess the desire to travel and meet new people and keep connected with existing contacts.
