  • Job Reference: PR/010771

Spinnaker

Our client, a major international ship owner/ manager in the container market is currently looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to join their European team. This person can be based out of Germany, Denmark or Switzerland.

This is a unique position and the main focus will be on commercial management so whilst our client requires someone with the core knowledge of charter partys/ post fixtures the role will suit someone very business-minded and strategic that is able to work closely with the VP of Business Development.

The objective will be to identify concerns and common trends and work with customers to develop cost saving solutions. Therefore, this role will be best suited to someone that is very customer focused and would be expected to spend considerable time working with key customers in order to improve service offering and someone that keen to proactively contribute to the commercial offering.

Ideally this person will have a good grounding in container post fixture work but on top of this you will need to demonstrate that you have commercial acumen and have strong key account management. This could also suit someone with a bulk background with the main emphasis of this hire being finding someone with the right mindset and the willingness to improve service delivery.

This would be a great opportunity to join a shipping group with a very modern outlook and a fast and ever-changing environment. It is a ‘high performance, high ownership’ culture that will suit someone keen to take on responsibility and with a very proactive mindset.

This hire can be based out of three locations in Europe and French, Danish or German language skills would be advantageous. You will also need to be happy with the prospect of setting up within one of these locations and spending a considerable amount of time travelling and working with customers.
