An International Group P&I Club is looking to recruit an experienced individual to work as a Contract Review Director in London.
This person will have responsibility for the reviewing of Members’ contracts, particularly those which, if approved legally, oblige the Club to pay liabilities. There will also be responsibility for advising members on their contracts. These contracts range from Bills of Lading, Charter parties, contracts for services provided to or by members and indeminty contracts (this is not an exhaustive list). Reviews can range from whole contracts to individual clauses.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with experience in contract review work. Non-Solicitors will be considered but would need to be able to demonstrate extensive contract review knowledge and experience.
This role will sit within the Underwriting department but will involve close relationships across all departments.
To be considered, you must be come from a marine insurance or marine law background and have experience of reviewing contractual terms. You will need excellent attention to detail and have a solid understanding of insurance contracts and scope of cover, including Club Rules, Pooling and reinsurance contacts.
