Our client is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to join their team and oversee their assigned fleet (Bulk or Tanker). This role will report to the General Manager and be responsible for ensuring that the fleet operates at the highest standard, adheres to legal and regulatory requirements, and follows the company’s policies.

Your key responsibilities include ensuring that the assigned fleet meets the requirements of the Management Service Agreement, overseeing operational expenses, implementing effective Management System procedures, monitoring and reporting ship issues, supervising Technical Managers for satisfactory ship performance and maintenance, coordinating ship operating budgets and controlling costs, approving Dry-docking specifications and major repairs, participating in fleet improvement initiatives, proposing training requirements for the Technical Department, supporting recruitment activities and validating senior officer proposals, providing assistance in emergency response situations and newbuilding projects, offering support to Operations, Legal & Insurance Departments as needed, maintaining relevant documents and certifications in the company’s e-filing system, delivering timely information and feedback to stakeholders, and undertaking directed ad hoc tasks and projects.

Your skillset for this position should possess proficiency in software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with strong analytical and communication skills. You should be methodical, adaptable, and flexible, with excellent multitasking and organizational abilities. In addition, in-depth knowledge of ships and systems, as well as experience in a Chief Engineer or similar role, is required. Strong management and research skills, as well as familiarity with Engineering and Naval Architecture standards, are also desirable qualifications.
