Purchasing Officer – London

We have partnered with a leading shipping company who is looking to bring in an experienced Purchasing Officer to join their growing team in London.

In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and supplying high-quality technical stores, spares and provisions for our global fleet in a cost and time efficient manner.

Key responsibilities include:

– Managing the end-to-end procurement process including obtaining quotations, negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders and logistics coordination
– Monitoring and advising vessels on compliant and cost-effective purchasing
– Managing relationships with approved suppliers and monitoring performance
– Keeping informed on new products, updating pricing, and approving new suppliers

The ideal candidate will have:

– Minimum 3 years’ experience in maritime procurement or supply chain management
– Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
– Clear written and verbal communication skills
– Commercial acumen with analytical and problem-solving abilities
– Strategic thinking skills and sound judgement
– A collaborative work ethic and ability to work under pressure
