Regional Director – Americas & The Caribbean

On behalf of our client, a prestigious maritime authority, we are looking for an exceptional individual to fill the role of Regional Director for the Americas & The Caribbean region.

You will be responsible for overseeing client engagement and relationships throughout the Americas and Caribbean region. This pivotal role involves managing operations, providing technical expertise, and representing the authority at high levels of government and industry.

You will oversee North America and Caribbean operations, provide technical assistance in the region, and engage with member states, NGOs, and ship owners on matters of mutual interest. You will lead client and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on the cruise industry, identify new client opportunities, and represent the Authority at government level and in regional seminars/conferences.
  
The role also involves preparing presentations and reports, driving business development, and liaising with internal departments and other entities within the Maritime Administration.

In terms of qualifications and experience you will need to have a Degree-level or equivalent, with one of the following:
  
STCW II/2 (Master Mariner) or STCW III/2 (Chief Engineer),
Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent
Senior Naval Officer (rank of Captain or above)
Minimum 10 years of experience in the maritime sector, with at least 7 years in a senior managerial position
  
You will need to possess excellent networking skills with proven industry connections, strong business analytical skills, and a track record of providing actionable insights. You should have an in-depth understanding of international/regional regulatory legislation, comprehensive knowledge of vessel operations and flag state duties, and highly developed written and oral presentation skills. Strong critical thinking, communication, management, and team-working abilities are essential, as is the capacity to work independently and as part of a global team.
  
You MUST have the permanent right to work in the USA or the permanent right to work in The Caribbean with no employment visa restrictions.
