Bespoke solutions on shore
Our Maritime Leadership Development Programme was originally tailored to help a large ship owner and operating business develop their shore-based leaders and managers to embrace and lead change. A 2 day participative workshop (delivered twice) provided 40 of their key managers with the tools and techniques to get the best from their teams and create an atmosphere where innovation could flourish. Themes included continuous improvement, change management methodologies and using coaching and facilitation techniques to draw out ideas. The one to one coaching that followed not only helped to embed the changes at an individual level but provided a confidential overview for the CEO of the challenges that lay ahead.
At sea solutions
Spinnaker have worked with one of the world’s leading independent providers of global marine support services to address the leadership challenges of their 4,000 senior officers. We designed and developed a practical leadership programme incorporating on-board, on line and shore-based activities to embed sustainable behavioural change. Designed in 4 months, and delivered across 2 years; accommodating individuals’ time at sea and ashore as well as the logistics associated with delivery across a large global workforce. With safety and wellbeing at the heart of everything, the programme continues to build an environment of support and challenge to improve cohesion above and below deck, across cultures and between the sea and shore.
Supporting people through change
Organisational change is constant in today’s climate. We are experienced at supporting global maritime businesses via our maritime HR consultancy to successfully deliver change through expert people knowledge and practical project management techniques.
With predicted changes to income streams, increased running costs, increased competition and technological opportunities one Investors in People (IIP) accredited maritime body from the not-for-profit sector approached us for help. We embarked upon a subtle but multi-faceted 2 year change programme including a review of their organisational structure, posts and people. Leadership development supported new and improved ways of working, underpinned by improved people practices an organisational structure designed to support the strategic vision.
