Associate Director – Singapore

A leading international insurance broker is seeking an experienced Marine Insurance professional to join its dynamic Singapore team as an Associate Director. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio spanning cargo, hull, and other marine lines, with a strong emphasis on developing and maintaining client relationships in the region.
You’ll be joining an established marine division that supports a wide range of clients, including shipowners, charterers, cargo owners, and ports & terminals operators, and collaborates closely with other business units across the organisation.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of marine insurance clients, with a focus on Singapore-based accounts.
• Negotiate and place marine insurance policies across cargo, hull, and other related lines.
• Prepare placing slips, cover notes, policy documentation, and client reports.
• Liaise with clients, underwriters, and internal colleagues to ensure efficient and accurate service delivery.
• Contribute to business development activities, identifying and converting new opportunities.
• Maintain high service standards, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal procedures.

 
Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in marine insurance, ideally gained in broking, underwriting, or claims.
• Strong background in cargo ideally, but hull, or other marine lines will be considered.
• Proven track record in client relationship management and policy negotiation.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, commercially minded, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
• Comfortable working in a multicultural, regional team environment.
