Digital Technology Director – London

We are partnering with a leading global shipping business to appoint a Digital Technology Director.
 
This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of the technology function across systems, data, and delivery. It sits outside of traditional IT, focusing on business platforms, transformation, and executive-level decision making.
 
You will act as the primary technology voice to the executive team, driving direction, delivery, and long-term strategy.
 
The business has undergone significant transformation in recent years and is now at a critical stage, with multiple systems in place, ongoing integration work, and increasing focus on data and delivery under executive scrutiny.
 
The Role

• Lead the end-to-end technology function (systems, architecture, projects, data)
• Manage senior leaders across architecture, delivery, and data
• Drive transformation, including integrations and legacy system decommissioning
• Bring structure and prioritisation to a complex, evolving tech landscape
• Reduce contractor reliance and build a stable long-term team
• Engage directly with CEO and exec team, translating technology into clear business outcomes

 
Candidate Profile

• Proven experience leading a full technology function in a complex organisation
• Strong track record of transformation and delivery in operational environments
• Confident operating at executive level with clear, concise communication
• Background in shipping, maritime, or other asset-intensive industries (aviation, logistics, industrial) preferred
• Ability to work in office up to 5-days per week

• Comfortable making decisions and standing by them, even when challenged at executive level

• Brings credibility and confidence, with the presence to engage, influence, and reassure senior leadership
