A well-established tanker owner-operator is hiring a Senior Vessel Operator for its Americas commercial desk in Houston. It’s a small, closely-knit commercial team, and operators sit close to the freight traders. You’ll know everyone’s name within a week.
  
This is a dirty tanker book, mainly Suezmax and Aframax, with some MR work as it comes up. The region runs from the US Gulf through the Caribbean and Panama, with occasional exposure to a specialised regional project outside the core area. STS and lightering come up regularly too.
  
The role
  
You’ll run voyages end to end:

• Pre and post-fixture operations
• Storage plans
• Bunkering
• Invoicing

You’ll work directly with traders daily, so fit matters as much as your CV. They want someone collaborative and open-minded, who builds good chemistry with a small team rather than someone who prefers working in isolation.
  
What they’re looking for

• 5+ years of shoreside commercial operations experience in tankers
• Someone who works well across functions, particularly with traders
