Sandra has been an integral part of Spinnaker since 2017, when she joined to help launch the SEA Benchmarking Reporting. Over the years, her role has evolved, and she now plays a key part in both the Maritime HR Association and Seafarer Employers’ Association, contributing to the development and delivery of valuable reports, market insights, and industry-leading services. Sandra has also been heavily involved in previous years in the planning and organisation of Spinnaker’s annual Maritime Conference, which brings together key players from across the industry to discuss emerging trends, challenges, and solutions.
Sandra’s extensive experience and expertise are rooted in her 26-year career in corporate banking, with 17 years dedicated to ship finance at prominent institutions like Lloyds Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Her deep understanding of financial services and the maritime sector has proven invaluable in her current role, where she applies her skills to enhance Spinnaker’s benchmarking services and provide clients with actionable, data-driven insights.
In addition to her professional experience, Sandra holds a degree in Financial Services Management, which she completed through years of dedicated night school study, earning a 2:1 classification. This accomplishment highlights Sandra’s commitment to continuous learning and personal growth, which she applies to her work every day.
Outside of her professional life, Sandra is a passionate practitioner of Kung Fu/Wing Chun and has recently achieved her green sash. This dedication to martial arts demonstrates her discipline, focus, and determination—qualities she brings to every aspect of her work at Spinnaker.
The Seafarer Wage Benchmarking report has been one of the most valuable resources for us, providing insightful data that supports our annual pay review.
I would highly recommend it to others looking to make informed and competitive wage decisions in the maritime industry.
