  • Monitor vessel performance, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with class, flag, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage operational and capital expenditure (OpEx & CapEx) budgets for maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking.
  • Evaluate and ensure the quality of services provided by shipyards, workshops, and suppliers.
  • Contribute to decarbonisation initiatives and provide insights for future vessel designs to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed reports to senior management on vessel performance, maintenance, and operational improvements.
  • Travel globally as required to support vessels, oversee projects, and conduct technical inspections.

Skills and Experience
Essential:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ shore-based experience in technical management or a similar role.
  • Previous seafaring experience as a Chief Engineer (C/E).
  • Strong background in managing container vessels. Experience with PCTCs (Pure Car and Truck Carriers) is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of conventional and electronic engine types, dry-docking processes, and vessel maintenance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate effectively, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with crew, peers, and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle crisis situations with urgency and resourcefulness.

 Personality and Cultural Fit

  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with a servant leadership approach that fosters open communication and trust.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
