Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Chemical Chartering Manager to join our clients team in Singapore. In this dual role, you will not only lead the chemical chartering from Asia but also serve as the Head of the Singapore office, overseeing a small, dedicated team. This position reports directly to the Global Head of the Chemicals business based in Dubai. This role would be ideal for an experienced Chemical Shipbroker that wants to shift into a role for an owner but it may also suit someone currently working for a shipowner.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all chemical chartering activities in the Singapore office, developing and implementing effective chartering strategies
- Serve as Head of the Singapore office, providing leadership and direction to the local team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partners in the Asia-Pacific region
- Analyze market trends and opportunities to optimize vessel deployment and maximize profitability
- Negotiate and finalize charter contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies
- Collaborate closely with the Global Head of Chemicals business to align regional strategies with global objectives
- Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reports on operations, market conditions, and business opportunities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and company standards
- Represent the company at industry events and forums in the region
Qualifications
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in chemical tanker chartering
- Extensive knowledge of the Asia-Pacific chemical shipping market
- Strong network of industry contacts and demonstrated relationship-building abilities
- Excellent negotiation skills with a history of securing favorable charter arrangements
- Advanced understanding of maritime economics, freight markets, and trade flows
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Business, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
- Experience working in a multinational environment
