Marine Superintendent (Chemical Tanker) – Singapore
About the Role
A rare opportunity has arisen for a Marine Superintendent to join a shipowner company in Singapore. Our client operates a growing fleet of stainless steel chemical tankers with plans to expand their fleet in the next few years.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily vessel operations including voyage planning, stowage plans, cargo operations, and bridge team activities
- Ensure compliance with company’s Safety and Quality Management Systems
- Support vessels through vetting processes including SIRE, CDI, FSI, and PSC inspections
- Coordinate preparation and maintenance of regulatory plans (OPA-90/VRP, SMPEP, SOPEP)
- Provide technical support and guidance to vessel Masters
- Monitor quality, health, safety, and environmental aspects across the fleet
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Support emergency response when required
Requirements
- Master Mariner certification with minimum 2 years’ experience as Master on ocean-going chemical tankers
- Specific experience with vegetable oils and heated cargoes on stainless steel parcel chemical tankers
- Previous shore experience as Operations/Marine Superintendent supporting chemical tankers (preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of chemical tanker regulations and Oil Major requirements
- Strong leadership qualities and commitment to safety procedures
- Team player with excellent communication skills
Location & Work Arrangement
- Office-based in Singapore with occasional vessel visits (1-2 weeks every few months)
