Marine Insurance Manager – Monaco
A global shipping company headquartered in Monaco is looking to strengthen its insurance team with an experienced Insurance Manager. The Group has been investing in and operating shipping assets since 1971 and today provides technical and commercial management to a fleet of over 180 vessels, with over 850 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
You will play a key role in managing marine insurance covers for part of the Group’s fleet, supporting the organization’s operational and strategic insurance interests worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all placed insurance covers for designated vessels in the fleet.
- Identify risks in coordination with Senior Management, Operations, Chartering, Crew Marine, Technical, and Legal teams.
- Oversee post-placement administration, declarations, and accurate record-keeping.
- Manage and ensure the accuracy and validity of all marine insurance policies, documents, and certificates.
- Distribute and verify Certificates of Entry, H&M Confirmations, endorsements, carrier codes, SPRO agreements, and other insurance certificates across pre-delivery, delivery, and trading stages.
- Support Marine/Operations teams in issuing CLC, Bunker CLC, Wreck Removal, COFR, and Californian COFR certificates.
- Work closely with the Claims and Legal teams for claims handling and notifications.
- Coordinate with Accounts to ensure timely receipt and processing of insurance-related invoices.
- Maintain detailed insurance records including premiums, delivery/redelivery dates, inception dates, and claims databases.
- Manage updates to the Insurance Tab on the company intranet.
- Contribute to loss prevention initiatives by collecting and distributing safety-related materials (posters, alerts, bulletins, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bilingual proficiency in Italian and English is a MUST
- Wealth of experience in marine insurance, with strong exposure to P&I and H&M claims.
- Previous experience within a shipping company or P&I Club (preferred).
- Deep understanding of marine insurance and shipping operations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage complex documentation efficiently.
- Clear, concise communication skills across all business functions.
