Freight Trader- Singapore

An established and respected international dry bulk shipping group is seeking a Freight Trader to join their high-performing commercial team in Singapore. Operating a diverse fleet of vessels across global trade routes, this company has built a reputation for stability, professionalism, and commercial excellence.
 
The Opportunity:
 
This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially driven professional to take ownership of trading activities within the Supramax and/or Panamax segments. You’ll manage and grow a dynamic cargo and tonnage portfolio, leveraging your market insight and relationships to maximise returns and drive business development across key markets.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day chartering of owned and controlled tonnage, including spot and COA cargoes.
• Identify and execute new trading opportunities through market analysis and strategic positioning.
• Negotiate and conclude charter parties, COAs, and period fixtures.
• Optimise vessel earnings and collaborate closely with operations for efficient performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, agents, and partners worldwide.
• Provide informed market intelligence and contribute to strategic commercial decisions.
• Represent the company at international industry events and client meetings.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree or diploma in Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in dry cargo chartering or freight trading, ideally within Supramax or Panamax markets.
• Strong negotiation, networking, and commercial decision-making skills.
• Analytical mindset with proven ability to optimise earnings on tonnage and cargoes.
• Exposure to FFAs and hedging strategies is an advantage.
• Flexible and willing to travel regularly.
