Marine Insurance Broker – Business Development

An established international marine insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Marine Insurance Broker to join its Singapore office as part of a growing regional platform. This is a business-facing role for someone who understands both the technical and commercial mechanics of marine insurance and can actively contribute to portfolio growth across Asia.
You will operate in a well-connected, globally integrated broking environment, working closely with colleagues in Europe and Asia. The role suits someone who can originate, develop and retain client relationships while structuring intelligent, market-aligned insurance solutions across multiple marine lines.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new marine insurance business across Asia and international markets.
• Build and manage long-term client relationships across Hull & Machinery, P&I, cargo, charterers’ liability and related covers.
• Design and structure tailored marine insurance programmes aligned with client risk profiles.
• Analyse market trends, insurer appetite and placement strategies to support growth initiatives.
• Expand insurer and underwriting relationships to strengthen placement capability.
• Work closely with the Singapore team and international colleagues to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Act as a trusted adviser to clients within shipping, marine and related industries.

 
Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in marine insurance broking, underwriting, insurance agency, or a closely aligned maritime sector.
• Strong technical understanding of core marine insurance products.
• Existing insurer, underwriter or shipping-sector relationships are a clear advantage.
• Commercially driven with a demonstrable ability to originate and develop business.
• Confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
• Able to operate independently while contributing effectively within an international team environment.
• Legal right to work in Singapore.
