We are representing a leading global ship management organisation seeking an experienced Manager / Senior Manager – Technical Superintendent to join their Singapore office. This is a senior role with full responsibility for the safe, compliant, and cost-effective management of assigned LNG and LPG vessels, alongside leadership of onshore and offshore teams.
Role Overview
You will take end-to-end technical ownership of assigned vessels, overseeing daily operations, maintenance, budgets, regulatory compliance, and major repair activities. At Manager level, the role may include acting as Group In-Charge when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Full technical and operational management of LNG / LPG vessels
- Plan and execute dry dockings, refits, mobilisations, and major repairs
- Prepare repair specifications, evaluate tenders, and control technical spend
- Manage vessel budgets and cost performance
- Ensure compliance with IMO, Flag State, Port State, Class, and statutory requirements
- Maintain certification, survey status, and audit readiness
- Act as first technical point of contact during vessel emergencies
- Drive HSEQ standards and a strong safety culture
- Lead, coach, and develop onboard and shore-based teams
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
Key Requirements
- Marine Engineering or Navigation qualification (or equivalent maritime degree)
- Valid STCW Certificate of Competency (MEO Class 1 / III-2 or II/2)
- Strong LNG and/or LPG carrier experience
- Prior shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent (essential for Senior Manager level)
- Proven experience managing dry dockings, repairs, and vessel budgets
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Experience with different LNG propulsion types (Steam / DFDE / ME-GI / XDF)
- Strong knowledge of gas cargo systems and containment
- Excellent IT and technical systems capability
