A globally active dry bulk shipping company is hiring an FFA / Freight Derivatives Trader to take ownership of hedging and derivatives execution across its physical exposure.
  
This is a newly created role with high visibility, working closely with senior management and the wider commercial team. The successful hire will be hands-on, execution-focused, and able to manage exposure reporting and hedge implementation with strong discipline.
  
This position is hedging-led rather than speculative trading, particularly in the initial phase.
  
Key responsibilities

• Execute dry bulk freight derivative hedges (FFAs and related instruments)
• Monitor physical exposure and implement hedge strategies accordingly
• Maintain accurate trade capture, position reporting, and exposure records
• Track and manage the risk portfolio and hedging performance
• Liaise with internal teams across chartering, finance, operations and commercial functions
• Support development of internal reporting and risk processes

  
Candidate requirements

• Proven experience executing FFAs / freight derivatives (dry bulk preferred)
• Strong understanding of hedging and exposure management
• High attention to detail with trade capture and reporting
• Comfortable operating in a structured, corporate shipping environment
• London-based preferred, with flexibility to consider Dubai
