Our client is seeking an experienced Marine Superintendent to oversee ship management for assigned Jack-up barges. This role is critical to ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective vessel operations while maximizing fleet utilization and maintaining strong client relationships.
The Marine Superintendent will have end-to-end responsibility across marine, technical, safety, financial, crewing, procurement, and regulatory functions, acting as the primary point of accountability for vessel performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize operational performance and fleet utilization within approved budgets, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain full responsibility for vessel status and operational activities, including:
- Planned maintenance
- Dry docking
- Mobilization and demobilization
- Vessel modifications
- Warm stack and cold stack operations
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and support commercial objectives.
- Manage a multi-disciplinary team covering operations, marine services, technical services, HSE, procurement, crewing, administration, finance, and commercial contracts.
- Develop, implement, and maintain competency standards.
- Support recruitment planning and training of personnel in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies and regulations, including HSE, risk management, ESG, procurement, crewing, finance, and other corporate governance requirements.
- Oversee HSE management systems ensuring consistent implementation and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Marine Manager to ensure qualified deck officers, engineers, and ratings are deployed across company assets.
- Manage and control budgets to ensure financial accountability and cost efficiency.
- Ensure adoption and effective use of the AMOS maintenance management system across capable vessels.
- Maintain direct communication with vessel Masters regarding operations and activities.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maritime or similar industry in a fleet management or supervisory role.
- Unlimited Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (CoC).
- Dynamic Positioning (DP) Certificate issued by the Nautical Institute (mandatory).
- Proven experience operating Jack-Up Barges.
- ADNOC or Aramco approval as Port Captain / Marine Superintendent is a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Studies or a related discipline.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
