Our client seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to oversee and lead the day-to-day operations of their Qatar-based fleet. This is a senior leadership role responsible for operational excellence, safety compliance, contract execution, and customer engagement across our marine operations, including AHTS towage and crew boat fleets.
You will act as the critical link between vessels and shore management, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational readiness, and continuous improvement in safety and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Oversee daily marine vessel operations in Qatar.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and maritime regulations.
- Drive operational efficiency and fleet performance.
- Safety & Compliance
- Conduct safety audits and risk assessments.
- Ensure full compliance with international maritime laws and company standards.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with company values.
- Crew Management
- Supervise Masters, Chief Engineers, and all Qatar-based crew.
- Coordinate crew changes with crewing and HR teams.
- Support compliance with local maritime requirements.
- Maintenance & Technical Performance
- Monitor vessel maintenance schedules and performance metrics.
- Liaise with engineering teams on repairs and upgrades.
- Review maintenance reports and recommend improvements.
- Contract Execution
- Plan and coordinate craft movements to meet contractual obligations.
- Ensure vessels are fully compliant and contract-ready.
- Lead operational delivery for all marine service contracts.
- Customer Engagement
- Serve as primary point of contact for all fleet-related client matters.
- Ensure vessels meet customer expectations and operational standards.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve operational concerns.
- Operational & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure vessels are certified to class and comply with flag state and international legislation.
- Maintain compliance with local maritime authorities and regulatory bodies.
HSSE & Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure strict adherence to company Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) policies.
- Promote a safety-first culture where employees are empowered to stop unsafe work.
- Ensure compliance with the company Code of Ethics, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Whistleblowing, and Sanctions policies.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements
- MUST be an experienced Master Mariner.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as Marine Manager or Marine Superintendent.
- 3–4 years’ experience in a similar leadership role.
- Proven offshore experience with AHTS towage and similar vessel types.
- Strong background in towage fleet and crew boat marine management.
Technical Skills
- Strong working knowledge of maritime legislation and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prepare detailed operational reports and statistics.
- Fluent English (written and spoken); capable of independent correspondence.
