This role supports the local management team in implementing and maintaining Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) standards across port and operational activities. The position focuses on compliance, incident prevention, auditing and improving safety culture across employees, contractors and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise and support operational teams on HSSE risks and safe working practices
- Monitor and assess HSSE activities, promoting a positive safety culture
- Conduct audits, inspections and assurance checks
- Maintain HSSE management systems and documentation
- Ensure compliance with UK H&S legislation and company standards
- Oversee security compliance, including ISPS requirements
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Maintain and review risk assessments for operational activities
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and regulatory bodies
Requirements
- 1–3 years’ HSSE experience (ports, marine, logistics or other high-risk environments preferred)
- Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 HSSE qualification)
- Ability to engage operational teams and support continuous improvement initiatives
