Spinnaker are representing a well-known ferry and port operations organisation seeking a Contractor Assurance & Regulatory Standards Manager to oversee contractor compliance and regulatory standards across multiple European port locations.
Key Responsibilities Contractor Assurance & Governance
- Implement and monitor contractor assurance and control standards across business units
- Oversee contractor pre-qualification, onboarding and performance monitoring
- Conduct audits, inspections and compliance checks
- Provide guidance and training to site and project teams
Regulatory & ISO Oversight
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards (ISO 45001, 14001, 9001)
- Monitor fleet regulatory compliance and international standards
- Support certification audits and regulatory inspections
- Maintain and update assurance frameworks in line with legislation
Risk & Performance Management
- Identify risks associated with contracted activities and implement mitigation measures
- Analyse contractor performance data and drive improvements
- Support contractor-related incident investigations and corrective actions
- Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as central contact for contractor assurance across UK & Europe
- Report performance, risk and compliance status to senior leadership
- Liaise with regulators, auditors and industry bodies
- Build relationships with operational stakeholders
Requirements
- 3–10 years’ HSSE experience in high-risk environments (ports, marine, logistics or similar)
- Strong knowledge of UK & European H&S legislation
- Experience managing contractors and influencing operational teams
- Marine or maritime operational awareness preferred
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 HSSE qualification)
- Willingness to travel to European port locations
