Customer Success Manager, Europe

We’re looking for a Customer Success Manager for a maritime e-learning company who are experiencing impressive growth.

An opportunity that will allow you to work remotely or from one of the companies four European offices, you will use your skills in customer service to guide new users from initial trial to subscription as well as provide support to existing users of the platform.

It’s a diverse position where you will also be developing policies, procedures and strategies for the global customer service centres.

You’ll work closely with the product development team for the incorporation of new courses, as well as compiling reports and providing recommendation based on your insight into trends in the training and digital, e-learning market.

Ideally you will have knowledge of the maritime industry, combined with a experience in a position that has put you at the forefront of customer service initiatives.

In-house lawyer, Middle East

An international shipping company is looking for a UK qualified Solicitor to join them in their Dubai office.

This position will essentially be the number two in the busy legal department and so in order to be considered it is essential that you have at least 5 years’ post qualification experience, ideally from either an international law firm or a shipping company environment.

This role will primarily focus on disputes and claims work, including P&I, and so those candidates with a transactional background will not be considered.

Head of Operations- Dubai

We have just been appointed on an exciting project within the Dubai market. We are partnered with an Agri Trader with a growing shipping business to assist them in the search for a Head of Operations to form part of their senior leadership team.

This is a great opportunity to join a closely knit group with ambition to grow the shipping business. The core focus of this role would be to provide operational support throughout the shipping business and provide leadership to the existing team, However we feel this is a position that will have a broad scope and will need to be a senior figure that understands commercial risks and how to protect the company position.

Someone that has a deep understanding of a wide range of vessel operations matters in the bulk market, is comfortable with legal matters, dealing with P&I Clubs etc as well as someone that is able to keep the chartering department aware when it comes to charter party clauses that could cause them some problems down the line.

This role will be reporting into and working closely with the GM of the business. We feel it would be well suited to someone that has strong commercial operations leadership experience gained within a moderately sized Owner/ Operator or potentially within a trading setup.

HR and Administration Manager, Denmark

Spinnaker have partnered with a Singaporean Headquartered shipping company, expanding their business into Denmark with an office in Copenhagen.

They are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR and Administration Manager to join their global HR team and harmonise operational procedures in Singapore with local Danish policies.

You will be the go to person in Denmark to guide and advise all office staff on HR matters and be responsible for the management of the office.

As the HR and Administration Manager you will be the first port of call for all matters relating to employment law in Denmark, pension regulations, personal taxation, recruitment, staff development, performance reviews, compensation & benefits and salary benchmarking.

Ensuring the office runs smoothly and effectively will be your responsibility covering facilities management, arranging for various insurance such as medical and contents insurance. Health and Safety regulations, lease agreements, hotel booking and travel arrangement will all fall under your varied and busy role.

Reporting directly to the office in Singapore, you will also work closely with counterparts in other global locations. Ultimately you will be responsible for the office in Denmark.

This role requires an individual with a minimum of five years’ experience within a Human Resources function and you will also have a formal qualification or degree in HR practice.

Knowledge in Danish Employment law, and a track record of keeping up to date with the latest legislation is a must have.

You will need to draw upon your experience of managing an office to succeed in this role along with having oversight of payroll, being proficient in Microsoft Excel and HRIS.

Fluency in English and Danish is required.

Experience in maritime is not essential, yet will be highly desirable.

Director of New Building, Hong Kong

We have partnered with a leading ship management company based in Hong Kong to find a Director of New Building.

You will be responsible for leading the entire New Building Division. This would include working with existing building contracts and projects already in place as well as looking at the overall strategy of bringing in new business from ownership companies. This would require you to pull on your existing network to grow and drive the business forward, with a particular focus on Chinese or South Korean markets.

You will be responsible for overseeing Site Teams, Plan Approval Managers, Naval Architects and Designers along with being accountable for maintaining relationships with new building clients for the conversion of business.

This role will suit an individual who is highly driven and already has an established network in the New Building industry, not only will they need to know their way around a ship, they will also need to be commercially astute for dealing with ship owners as customers directly.

The ideal individual would have a blend of New Building Management at a General Manager / Director level along with Strong Business Development skills.

Finance Manager, Middle East

If you have a degree in Accounting or Finance, knowledge of IFRS and GAAP with exposure working in Financial Management including project & cost controlling and financial modelling this could be the next step in your career.

Reporting to the CFO, with two direct reports, you will contribute to the company by planning, developing and leading initiatives, implementing financial policies and procedures as well as overseeing all financial controls.

Collaborating with the wider company, you will provide advice to commercial and operations teams so decisions can be made on solid financial data as well as providing recommendations for cost reduction and profit improvement.

The ability to demonstrate financial reporting and compliance, audit management following accounting standards inclusive of tax, payroll, inventory and assets will be crucial.

This company are looking for an expert in financial planning and budgeting, financial risk management and financial analysis and the ability to report this information to management level.

Experience in the shipping and maritime industry is essential. Ideally you will have experience working within a shipbuilding or shipyard environment.

Fleet Management Coordinator, Singapore

We are currently working with one of the world’s leading commodity groups who are looking to bring in a Fleet Management Coordinator into their marine team in Singapore.

As a Fleet Management Coordinator, you will provide oversight and implement best practice standards and improvements across the fleet.

Some of the key aspects of this role will be ensuring that the operational activities of Owned vessels and ensure vessels are operating within RTM Safety and Operational guidelines are monitored daily. Added to this, you will liaise closely with the Ship Managers on the reporting of investigations and adequate resolution of incidents, issues and disputes as well as ensuring all internal stakeholders are appropriately informed.

The ideal person would be highly passionate about the safety and wellbeing of seafarers and improving the standards of the shipping industry, minimum of 5 years Navigational watchkeeping officer with seagoing experience preferred and finally always looking at new ways to improve, and have strong numeric and analytical skills.

Commercial Assistant, Greece

We are working with a large shipping company in Greece who are looking for a Commercial Officer to join their team.

The person in this role will work closely with the Commercial Manager, supporting them with commercial activities, reviewing charter parties, assisting with the running of a cargo book and monitoring pool agreements.

This role is suitable for someone with excellent charter party knowledge and someone with a commercial background.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience a commercial department within a shipping organisation.

Commercial Analyst- Singapore

Spinnaker Global is on the search for a Commercial Analyst to join one of the world’s largest owners and operators of LPG vessels. This role is to be based in their Singapore office and would be a good fit for someone with strong quantitative skills

Aside from the technical competencies required to perform in this role our client is looking for someone that has a creative and entrepreneurial streak that has the confidence to challenge the status quo and present their ideas.

You will collect industry and company data though a variety of channels, review and organise the data and prepare research to support commercial meetings with clients. You will conduct regular market research and update management and the commercial team.

You will need to possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organised and good time management skills. Good working knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools such as Spark, Hadoop and MapReduce would be preferred. A British vessel designer and builder is looking for a Marine Electrical Designer for their office in South East England.

You will be responsible for the electrical, electronic and navigation systems to meet the requirements of the classification society for remotely/autonomously operated vessels. You will develop the electrical distribution concepts, generate production ready drawings, provide technical submissions for classification societies, and other duties as required.

The successful candidate will ideally have 5 years experience in a similar role, excellent knowledge of AC/DC systems, relevant qualifications, and a desire to grow into a management role.
