Managing Director – Togo & Benin

This role sits at the centre of a West African shipping hub that matters.
 
The organisation is a long‑established global container carrier, operating across Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
 
Togo is a high‑volume gateway, ranked among the leading carriers locally and serving as a corridor into the Sahel. The structure, strategy and leadership team are already in place.
 
This is not an administrative role. Around three quarters of the focus is commercial – defending and growing market share, shaping export strategy, and ensuring vessels are serviced to the standards the market expects.
 
Delegation, accountability and performance culture need to be driven from the top.
 
The environment is demanding. Stakeholders are senior, visible and influential. The pace is high. Energy, judgement and credibility in container shipping are essential.

This will suit an ambitious, French‑speaking shipping professional stepping into a first or early Managing Director role.
 
Key experience required

• Container shipping background with direct exposure to liner agency or country leadership
• Proven commercial ownership of volumes, customers and trade lanes
• Fluency in French, with professional working English
