Head of Cybersecurity – Managed Security Services

The Opportunity Spinnaker is supporting an established international maritime technology services provider in identifying a Head of Cybersecurity to develop, improve and scale its customer-facing managed cybersecurity business.

With an established global customer base, existing cybersecurity services and technical infrastructure already in place, our client is reviewing its current offering with the ambition of building a stronger, more competitive and commercially scalable cybersecurity business.

The successful individual will assess the existing service portfolio, technology stack, team structure and delivery model, before helping define and implement the next phase of development.

This is not a traditional internal CISO role. We are looking for someone who has firsthand experience developing, packaging and delivering managed cybersecurity services sold to external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and improve the existing managed cybersecurity portfolio, identifying gaps in technology, service delivery and commercial positioning.
• Develop and commercialise managed security offerings, including SOC-as-a-Service, MDR, endpoint protection, network security and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate cybersecurity technologies, vendor partnerships and internal versus outsourced service delivery models.
• Build, lead and develop cybersecurity engineering and managed services teams.
• Oversee service operations, incident response, SLAs, technical performance and customer satisfaction.
• Work alongside commercial teams on service packaging, pricing, vendor costs, customer proposals and recurring revenue growth.
• Establish a clear cybersecurity services roadmap aligned with customer requirements and business growth.

Experience & Requirements:

• Proven cybersecurity leadership experience within an MSSP, MSP, cybersecurity vendor or technology services provider.
• Demonstrable experience building, launching or scaling customer-facing managed cybersecurity services, rather than solely managing internal security functions.
• Strong technical understanding of SOC operations, SIEM, EDR/XDR, MDR, network security, vulnerability management and incident response.
• Experience selecting and integrating third-party security technologies into managed service offerings.
• Experience leading technical teams, managing vendors and overseeing operational service delivery.
• Commercial understanding of service development, pricing, customer engagement, margins and recurring revenue models.
• Ability to combine strategic direction with practical technical and operational leadership.

Desirable: Experience in maritime cybersecurity, IT/OT security, remote infrastructure or connectivity-constrained environments.
