Ethan works as a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Spinnaker, specialising in technology recruitment within the maritime sector. With nearly five years of experience in technology recruitment, he began his career focusing on the German software engineering market before expanding his work across wider Europe and the Nordics. Throughout this time, he has recruited across a broad range of positions, from Software Engineers and Data Scientists to Engineering Managers and C-level executives.

Ethan joined Spinnaker in March 2026 to establish and develop the firm’s Maritime Technology recruitment desk. While Spinnaker has long held a strong global presence within the maritime industry, Ethan’s role brings a dedicated focus to the rapidly growing technology side of the sector. He works with organisations looking to advance their digital capabilities, placing professionals in roles such as Software Developers, Data Scientists, DevOps Engineers, Cybersecurity Specialists and SaaS-focused positions. His goal is to connect maritime businesses with the talent driving digital transformation, particularly in areas such as AI, automation and software solutions that help streamline and modernise shipping operations.

Throughout his career, Ethan has achieved several notable milestones. He was the fastest-promoted resource to consultant at his previous firm, achieving this in just ten weeks, before progressing to Senior Consultant. He also completed his first full 360-recruitment deal within two months and has successfully built and grown recruitment desks within Germany’s HealthTech and MedTech sectors while driving business development across multi-million-dollar organisations.

Originally from Cornwall, Ethan grew up around the coast and developed a natural connection to the sea from an early age, which makes his move into the maritime industry a particularly meaningful step in his career. Outside of work, sport has always played a big role in his life. Although he once dreamed of becoming a professional footballer, he discovered rugby at the age of 11 and has played ever since. He represented Cornwall at age-group level and competed in the Jason Leonard U20 Championship Final at Twickenham in 2018. Earlier in his rugby journey, he was also part of the Exeter Chiefs Academy side that won the Premiership U18 Vase Final in 2015.

Today, Ethan lives in Leigh-on-Sea with his partner of seven years and their energetic cockapoo, Max. A proud family man, he enjoys spending time outdoors and by the coast whenever possible. With both a professional background in technology recruitment and a personal connection to the sea, Ethan is excited to help shape the future of maritime through technology and innovation.
