The Role
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to join a leading international provider of maritime technology and systems integration solutions. Working closely with architecture, engineering, and delivery teams, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and integrating complex technical solutions supporting maritime infrastructure, vessel operations, and fleet-wide systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical point of contact across engineering, architecture, and operational teams
- Translate operational and regulatory requirements into clear technical system designs
- Design and integrate complex maritime IT, networking, and infrastructure solutions
- Assess feasibility and implementation of new technologies within maritime environments
- Select appropriate technology stacks, tools, and platforms for operational use
- Optimise system performance, resilience, and security
- Implement and support cyber security measures aligned with maritime threats and standards
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation and design specifications
- Support testing, validation, configuration, and troubleshooting during deployment
- Identify technical risks and propose practical mitigation strategies
- Contribute to prototype development and system scalability planning
- Train and support internal teams on system architecture, configuration, and operation
Requirements – Essential
- Proven experience in systems engineering and systems integration
- Strong knowledge of networking and infrastructure (Fortinet experience highly advantageous)
- Hands-on experience with Linux (Debian) environments, including iptables, bash scripting, VLANs, KVM, and network interfaces
- Solid working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation and scripting (Python preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent technical documentation and specification writing ability
- Confident communicator, able to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, operationally critical environments
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or a related technical field
