Senior Broker – Marine Insurance – London

An established international marine insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced senior broker to join its London platform, focusing on complex marine placements across the Lloyd’s and wider London market.
The role suits a commercially minded marine insurance professional who understands the nuance of London market negotiations and is confident operating at both client and insurer level.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Place and negotiate marine insurance and reinsurance risks across Cargo, Hull & Machinery, P&I and associated marine lines within the Lloyd’s and London markets.
• Manage and develop relationships with existing clients, insurers, and underwriting partners.
• Collaborate closely with international broking and business development colleagues to deliver coordinated placement strategies.
• Expand and strengthen insurer relationships and placing channels within the London market.
• Provide strategic advice to shipowners, commodity traders, energy clients, and other maritime stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and support long-term client retention and growth.

Requirements

• 4+ years’ marine insurance broking and/or underwriting experience within the Lloyd’s and London market.
• Strong technical knowledge across marine insurance products including Cargo, H&M and P&I.
• Established relationships within the insurance market and/or the wider shipping, commodities or energy sectors.
• Proven negotiation capability and confidence handling complex placements.
• Commercial awareness combined with strong communication skills.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across international teams.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
