A privately held tanker owner-operator with a well-established fleet and a growing commercial platform is looking for a Chartering Manager to own the spot book.
  
The role is based in a well-regarded maritime hub in the Western Mediterranean, reporting directly into senior management, and carries real P&L responsibility from day one.
  
The company has been operating for over two decades and has a reputation for moving quickly and keeping decision-making close to the top. There’s no committee culture here. You’ll have the relationships, the tools, and the authority to execute.
  
The role
  
You’ll manage spot fixtures across the fleet, work closely with the operations team on vessel positioning, and develop the counterparty network on both the cargo and tonnage side. The focus is product tankers, though the platform covers a range of sizes. This is a full chartering seat, not a support function.
  
Who they’re looking for
  
Brokers who want to move to the principal side are a strong fit. You’ll already know the market and the players. What changes is that you’re now working for one book, not commission.
  
Charterers from trading houses or oil majors are equally relevant, provided you’ve been close to the fixture rather than just the freight procurement layer.
