About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Fleet Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and cost-effective management of our client’s offshore support vessel (OSV) fleet.
In this role, you will ensure the operational and technical reliability of the fleet while driving continuous improvement in safety, performance, and operational excellence. Working closely with Operations, Technical, QHSE, Crewing, and Finance teams, you will oversee fleet performance and ensure compliance with company standards, international maritime regulations, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with the Company’s HSE Policy and Safety Management System, promoting a strong safety culture both ashore and onboard.
  • Participate in incident and safety investigations alongside the Head of QHSE, ensuring corrective action plans are implemented and monitored.
  • Develop, review, and continuously improve fleet management processes and procedures, ensuring effective implementation across the fleet.
  • Set and cascade operational objectives to Vessel Managers to ensure fleet performance aligns with company goals.
  • Monitor and analyse operational and technical KPIs, identifying improvement opportunities and recommending strategic or organisational changes where required.
  • Lead regular fleet performance review meetings involving QHSE, Operations, Technical, and Crewing departments.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering safe, reliable, and efficient vessel operations.
  • Review and approve operational budgets.
  • Monitor fleet operating expenses (OPEX) and ensure budget compliance in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Foster collaboration between departments to optimise fleet performance and operational efficiency.

Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) operations and fleet management.
  • Excellent understanding of maritime regulations, including Flag State, Class, Port State requirements, and international conventions.
  • Sound technical knowledge of offshore vessel types and specifications.
  • Experience in emergency response planning and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation and standards, including:
    • SOLAS
    • MARPOL
    • ISM Code
    • ISO 14001
    • OSHA
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including OVID, IMCA, OSM, OSMSA, Quality Management Systems, and Compliance frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience
Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related discipline.
  • Equivalent senior management experience within the maritime industry will also be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Vessel Management position within a Ship Management Company or an offshore Oil & Gas maritime environment.
  • Experience managing Offshore Support Vessels is essential.
