An established international marine insurance broker is looking to appoint a Marine Insurance Broker to join its growing team in the UAE.
This opportunity is ideal for a London market marine insurance professional looking to relocate internationally and develop their career within a highly respected specialist marine brokerage. Working alongside an experienced broking and claims support team, the successful candidate will focus on advising clients, placing complex marine risks and developing long-term relationships with shipowners and insurers, with the opportunity to build and grow their own portfolio over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of marine insurance clients.
- Place and negotiate a broad range of marine insurance risks across the London and international insurance markets.
- Advise clients on insurance solutions, policy structures, renewals and market developments.
- Build strong relationships with insurers, underwriters and wider market contacts.
- Work closely with an experienced broking and claims support team to deliver an exceptional client service.
- Attend client meetings and represent the business across the marine insurance market.
- Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new business.
- Develop technical knowledge across marine insurance classes, including Hull & Machinery, Protection & Indemnity and associated marine risks.
- Support the continued growth of the business by building long-term relationships within the shipping industry.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Marine Insurance Broker within the London market.
- Strong understanding of marine insurance and the London insurance market.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset with a genuine interest in developing new business.
- Confident working directly with clients, insurers and market stakeholders.
- Technical marine insurance knowledge, with claims experience viewed as an advantage.
- ACII qualified or working towards ACII would be beneficial.
- Degree educated preferred, although relevant market experience will also be considered.
- Ambitious, personable and motivated to build a long-term career within marine insurance.
