Recruitment Consultant (Commercial Shipping)- Essex

Spinnaker is looking for someone with a background in commercial shipping who is interested in making the move into recruitment and joining our established Commercial team.
 
You might currently be working in shipbroking, chartering, vessel operations, post-fixture, demurrage, market analysis or another commercial shipping role.
 
You don’t need any recruitment experience — we’ll teach you that.
 
What we’re looking for is someone who:

• Has good experience and knowledge of the commercial shipping market
• Understands how shipowners, operators, charterers and brokers work
• Is naturally commercial, confident and good with people
• Enjoys building relationships and developing a network
• Has the drive to create opportunities rather than waiting for them to come along
• Wants to build a long-term career where their existing shipping knowledge gives them a genuine advantage

What would you actually be doing?
 
You’ll be recruiting internationally across the commercial shipping market, covering areas including Chartering, Shipbroking, Vessel Operations, Post-Fixture, Demurrage and Research/Analysis.
 
We’ll teach you the recruitment side — from identifying and approaching candidates through to business development, managing recruitment processes, negotiating offers and developing long-term client relationships.
You’ll be joining an established team rather than starting from scratch, with the backing of a maritime recruitment business that has been operating globally since 1997.

Based from our offices in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, this could be particularly interesting for someone already working within the local shipping community who is starting to think about what they want the next stage of their career to look like.
