Our client seeking an experienced and commercially minded Operations & Equipment Manager to lead and oversee our Liner, Port and Equipment Operations.
This is a senior management opportunity for a proven maritime operations professional with strong leadership capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage complex operational environments while delivering exceptional service standards.
 
The Role
 
The Operations & Equipment Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of our clients Liner, Port and Equipment Operations.
The successful candidate will lead the Liner Operations Team and associated resources, ensuring efficient operational performance, effective cost control, budget management, employee development, and continuous improvement across the business.
A key focus of the role will be to deliver the required service levels, maintain the highest operational standards, and ensure full compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, company, and industry requirements—while consistently driving client satisfaction.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day Liner, Port and Equipment Operations.
  • Provide strong leadership, direction and support to the Operations Team.
  • Manage operational resources effectively to achieve business objectives and service standards.
  • Monitor and control operational costs and budgets.
  • Drive operational efficiency, continuous improvement and strategic development initiatives.
  • Conduct employee performance assessments and support the professional development of team members.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Maintain and promote the highest standards of operational excellence, safety and quality.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support the continued growth and improvement of the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and resolve complex operational issues in a timely and commercially effective manner.

Candidate Profile
 
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior management or operational management role within the maritime, shipping, liner or port industry.
  • A strong understanding of marine operations and the full range of associated operational functions.
  • A proven track record of leading strategic development within a business operating in a complex and demanding environment.
  • Significant management and leadership experience gained within an operational setting.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience in cost control and budget management.
  • Excellent people management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach combined with the ability to think strategically and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • A strong commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.
