We are seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical performance of designated offshore units. The role is critical in ensuring vessels are maintained to the highest standards, maximizing fleet availability and utilization while supporting safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Fleet Manager in preparing annual maintenance budgets and 5-year maintenance forecasts for barges.
- Calculate and manage emergency spare parts stock, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records onboard vessels.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee execution of planned maintenance in line with company policies, procedures, and systems.
- Plan, schedule, and manage major shipyard maintenance periods, including class special and intermediate surveys.
- Analyse the effectiveness of planned maintenance execution and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct periodic inspections of assigned barges to ensure maintenance tasks are satisfactorily completed.
- Participate in vessel mobilizations, including kick-off, follow-up, and close-out meetings and inspections.
- Ensure all downtime and defects are recorded, root cause analyses are conducted, and corrective actions are implemented.
- Act as the technical subject matter expert, supporting the Chief Engineer and Fleet Manager.
- Ensure effective adoption and utilization of the AMOS maintenance system across assigned vessels.
- Support the development and implementation of technical policies, procedures, and tools.
- Escalate critical technical and maintenance issues to the Fleet Manager as required.
- Support the Operations Superintendent in the supervision and development of barge crews.
- Provide hands-on technical support to vessel crews, including troubleshooting and repair guidance.
- Functionally report into the Technical Department.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Chief Engineer (Unlimited) Certificate of Competency
- DP License (mandatory)
- Degree in Nautical Studies or Marine Engineering (mandatory)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a maritime or similar industry in a technical/engineering role, or
3 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on DP2 Offshore Support Vessels
- GCC experience is an advantage
