Vessel Operator – Tankers
Southern Spain
We are working with an established international tanker owner and operator looking to add an experienced Vessel Operator to its commercial shipping team in Southern Spain.
This is a hands-on operations position with genuine commercial responsibility. You will take ownership of voyages from fixture through to completion, working closely with vessels, charterers, brokers, agents and internal commercial teams to ensure voyages are executed safely, efficiently and profitably.
The company operates a modern and expanding tanker fleet across international markets, with exposure spanning product tankers and specialised fuel transportation. The environment is commercially driven, so the role goes beyond day-to-day vessel monitoring. Operators are expected to understand the economics behind each voyage and actively look for ways to improve vessel performance and returns.
Key responsibilities will include:
What we are looking for
You will already have experience operating tankers from ashore or perhaps a tanker nroker wanting to move across to operations, ideally within product, CPP, DPP, bunkering or a closely related tanker environment.
You should be comfortable independently managing voyages and communicating directly with Masters, charterers, brokers, terminals and agents.
The strongest candidates will combine operational knowledge with a commercial mindset. You should understand how operational decisions affect voyage economics rather than viewing operations purely as an execution function.
Experience using voyage management systems such as IMOS would be advantageous.
The position would suit someone who wants to join a growing tanker platform where operations sits close to chartering and commercial decision-making.
