About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee their European offshore operations. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of marine and offshore services across the region.
The successful candidate will provide operational leadership to both onshore and offshore teams, drive operational excellence, maintain the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance, and support the continued development of our European operational footprint.
This role is ideal for a proactive operational leader with strong experience in offshore marine, jack-up, or renewable energy sectors who can effectively manage resources, people, and operational performance in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all operational activities within the European region.
• Ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of offshore operations in accordance with company standards and client requirements.
• Drive operational excellence through effective planning, coordination, and performance management.
• Ensure the consistent implementation and compliance of company HSE systems, policies, and procedures across all regional operations.
• Support the establishment and development of regional operational capabilities, including office setup, recruitment, and resource planning.
• Oversee all onshore and offshore operations, ensuring continuity of service and operational effectiveness.
• Lead and develop a high-performing regional team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, technical, and safety-related risks.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring efficient utilisation of resources and effective cost control.
• Monitor and oversee operational expenditure including crewing, logistics, mobilisation, maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking activities.
• Ensure vessels and assets remain compliant with flag state, class, statutory, and legislative requirements.
• Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support operational objectives.
• Provide regular operational reports and updates to the Operations Director.
• Monitor purchasing and requisition processes in collaboration with the finance team.
• Support strategic planning initiatives by providing operational insight and recommendations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, efficiency, and safety.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
The Operations Manager will:

• Demonstrate full compliance with all company HSE policies, standards, and procedures.
• Take personal responsibility for their own safety and the safety of colleagues, contractors, clients, and visitors.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all regional operations.
• Ensure incidents, hazards, and near misses are reported in line with company procedures.
• Support and actively participate in company HSE initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate PPE is utilised when required.
• Complete all required project and site-specific HSE inductions.

About You
You will be a highly motivated operational leader with a strong background in offshore marine operations and a proven ability to manage complex regional activities safely and efficiently.
Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in marine jack-up operations, offshore services, or renewable energy projects.
• Strong operational leadership and people management skills.
• Experience managing multi-site or regional offshore operations.
• Sound knowledge of marine regulatory, class, flag state, and industry compliance requirements.
• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure operational environments.
• Experience in risk management, incident response, and operational performance improvement.
• Strong understanding of HSE management systems and offshore safety requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage operational budgets and control costs effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior marine or offshore operational management role.
• Relevant maritime, marine engineering, offshore operations, or related industry qualification preferred.
• Must have the legal right to live and work in the UK or Europe and be willing to travel offshore as required.
