Our client is a leading shipping company with a tanker fleet. Growth and a significant vessel intake mean they are expanding their Athens wet operations team. They want an experienced Tanker Operator who can run ships from day one, pre to post fixture, in a fast moving environment with quick decision making.
  
The role

• Operate a book of 10 to 15 time chartered and voyage chartered tankers, clean and dirty, from pre-fixture through to post-fixture
• Act as the link between Chartering, Trading, Owners, Masters, Port Agents, Terminals and third party Charterers
• Screen vessels against vetting criteria and obtain port restrictions and costs for Chartering
• Issue voyage instructions and elaborate stowage plans, including multi-grade parcels, tank cleaning procedures and contamination risks
• Optimise bunker calculations and vessel routing against speed and consumption curves, weather and arrival deadlines
• Work out onboard blending and ITT plans, arrange STS transfers and bunkering for the time chartered fleet
• Negotiate LOI wordings and contribute to c/p clause negotiations
• Keep voyage estimates, actuals and costs accurate in IMOS and reconcile against the ETRM, taking ownership of the voyage P&L
• Feed laytime and voyage data to the in-house demurrage team (demurrage claims are not handled by the Operator)

The person

• 6 to 7 years of tanker operations experience handling clean and dirty petroleum products (more than 7 to 10 years is also welcome)
• Currently based in Greece, or a Greek national returning home
• Short notice period, ideally one month
• Down to earth, easygoing and team minded, with low ego
• Working knowledge of standard c/p forms such as Asbatankvoy, Exxonvoy, BPVoy, Shellvoy, Shelltime and Amwelsh
• IMOS experience is an advantage
• Sea going experience as a navigating officer is a plus, as is a background with both an owner or manager and a commercial operator
• Fluent English, spoken and written
