Purchasing Officer, Netherlands

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Officer for our client, a container shipmanagement company based in the Netherlands.

In this role, you will be working within a team of 8 people, and be responsible for the purchasing of spares for a fleet of 2-3 container vessels.

The role will also include the completion of all purchasing paperwork and updating information on their in-house system, taking into account budgets and costings.

To be suitable for this role you will have previous experience in a similar purchasing role, ideally working in the container industry.

Technical Superintendent, Netherlands

Spinnaker is currently working on the opportunity to work with a globally-leading marine services provider as a Technical Superintendent, based in the Netherlands.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth running of maintenance and dry-docking of a number of vessels, maintaining budgets in a cost-effective manner. You will report directly to the Regional Technical Manager and work in close cooperation with the Operations department, to ensure the technical status of the fleet is maintained and vessels comply with all regulations.

Suitable candidates should have sailed to at Chief Engineer and have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a shore based position. You should also be proficient in project management, budget management, and the use of planned maintenance systems.

Our client is looking for a candidate who is willing to travel frequently for their role. Candidates should be fluent in both verbal and written English. Speaking Dutch, French and/or Portuguese would also be an advantage.

Technical and Compliance Officer, London

A successful London based Maritime Authority is seeking a Technical & Compliance Officer to join the small team of professionals in the Inspections and Surveys Department.

This is an office-based role providing technical support and advice to owners, managers and recognised organisations. You will be overseeing the response and management of Port State Control inspections, and the operation of the Ship registry’s inspection programme.

This role is suitable for a Chief Engineer or Master Mariner.
Audit experience would be advantageous.

A logical thinking, safety orientated person is required who must have a wide knowledge of the International Maritime Conventions and Codes. You must have excellent communication skills and be decisive and proactive in your approach.

Crewing Officer, Essex

We are currently seeking a maritime professional, ideally with previous crewing experience for an exciting Crewing Officer role with a crew management services company based in Essex.

Within this role, you will report into the Managing Director and Fleet Director and be responsible for the daily crewing operations of a fleet of vessels owned by first-class ship owners. The fleet consists of modern passenger, bulk, container and general cargo vessels.

Other duties will include maintaining accurate records, verifying crew certificates, processing of ship accounts and crew wages.

You will also keep up-to-date with maritime and flag state legislation.

To be suitable for this role you will ideally have some crewing experience however, we can also consider deck officers who are looking to step ashore.

Experience with passenger vessels is advantageous.
