Marine Adviser - Technical, London
The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) are recruiting a Marine Adviser – Technical. This is a great opportunity to join the principal, global trade association for shipowners and influence the shape of shipping for the future. It is an ideal position for either a seagoing engineer to start their career ashore, or an individual with maritime engineering knowledge to develop an advisory career within regulatory affairs. This role will see you actively participate at IMO Committees and Sub-Committees, on behalf of ICS, where you will contribute to shaping future maritime regulatory requirements. You will also contribute to the development of publications and guidance for Companies in matters of regulatory compliance associated with International Shipping. Reporting to the Principal Director of Marine, you will be joining a great team of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals. You will work with the Technical and Nautical Directors, and alongside other team members for the development and implementation of policy. There will also be the opportunity to work on other technical areas as required. It is a position that will see you become expert on matters relating to technical operations, safety, and environmental issues for the ICS. Previous experience of working on board ships, as an engineer is preferred, but not essential. However, you will be required to have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of marine engineering, environmental and technical operations. You will be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for the maritime industry, regulatory affairs, and policy implementation and your ability to write, and orally present information in English to an exceptional standard will be paramount to your success. This is a full-time, permanent position and the ICS are based in Seething Lane, London. Assistant Technical Superintendent - LNG

A vessel owner is looking to bring an experienced Chief Engineer with LNG vessels inhouse for their first shorebased position.

Consultant Master Mariner, London

We have a brilliant opportunity that has just come in to work in London as a Consultant Master Mariner for an independent marine consultancy that provides expert advice on maritime and shipping incidents.

As a Consultant Master Mariner, you will be required to carry out incident response, accident investigation, salvage, and wreck removal consultancy services. Along with this, you will provide expert opinion and expert evidence, and carry out vessel and cargo surveys for both loss prevention and casualty investigation purposes.

To be considered for this role, you will need to hold a Master Mariner Ticket, ideally having sailed in command or worked with Bulk Carriers, LNG, or Offshore vessels. Shore-based experience would be preferred, have good written skills, and be comfortable presenting to others.

Marine Superintendent - Tankers

We are currently working with a world leading tanker operator who is looking for a Marine Superintendent to join their office in the Middle East.

In this role you will be supporting your assigned ships in achieving performance and condition standards by providing technical guidance. You will also be committed to maintaining and promoting the Company safety culture, and ensuring all vessels are compliant with health and safety regulations.

You will need to have sailed to Master and have experience working in a similar role. Extensive tanker experience is a must.

Training Master - Tug fleet - Pacific

A global tug operator is looking for a Training Master for a residential position in the Pacific.

You will be responsible for developing crew with special attention given to local crew who the company are looking to develop. Some Marine and HSEQ duties may be given to you as required.

The successful candidate will have sailed to Master or Chief Mate on tugs, have excellent communication and mentoring skills, and preferably previous shorebased experience.

Marine Electrical Engineer - South East England

A leading consultancy is looking for a Electrical Engineer to join them in their Essex office.

The role involves installing, fault finding and general servicing of equipment with a large part of the job often relating to interfacing so experience with NMEA and Ethernet / IP would be highly desired.

This successful candidate will have knowledge of bridge equipment such as Radios (VHF, MF/HF etc), GPS, Radar, Autopilot, Sat C, GYRO, Sat Compass, VSAT, TVRO, SART, EPIRB, Intercom, CCTV, VDR, ECDIS, Navtex, Anemometers, Echo Sounders, Fish finders and other electrical bridge equipment. The ability to apply basic principals to unfamiliar electrical equipment will be required.

Spinnaker is currently looking for a Marine Representative to work a rotational position for a client of ours, a shipping operator based in the Middle East.

This position is working with Jack-Up Barges and is 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Organising daily operations of the vessels
• Review all documents, risk assessments, task plans, etc.
• Ensure maintenance of all equipment
• Maintain good safety standards on board
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors

Suitable candidates should have:
• A good level of offshore experience as a Chief Mater or Master Mariner onboard Jack-Up Barges
• All standard offshore certifications (Huet/Bosiet, H2S, etc.)

Candidates should be able to speak English fluently.
